Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions in 2025 as a result of the illness that has affected her in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in events in Asia but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate ahead of launching next year's training.

Her upcoming training are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering in 2026.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu because of the lower back problem that has affected her during parts of the season.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
