The initial novel therapies for gonorrhoea in many years are being described as a "major milestone" in the battle against drug-resistant strains of the infection, according to health experts.

An International Challenge

Two New Treatment Options Receive Authorization

Zoliflodacin stemmed from a unique collaborative effort for medication research. The charitable organization Global Antibiotic Research & Development Partnership partnered with the pharmaceutical company its industry partner to see it through.

Under the terms of its development partnership, GARDP has the rights to license and sell the drug in many low-income and middle-income countries.
