Trump Invites Loved Ones of Injured National Guard Members to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Mourners gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the individual that instructors hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was kind, considerate and always ready to help others.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend asylum applications and cease granting visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told the program that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey told the crowd at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
